If you are looking for an action packed night, December 13th, 2014 will be it.  The venue, MGM GRAND Las Vegas Nevada, where Amir Khan (29-3, 19 KO’s) takes on Devon Alexander (26-2, 14 KO’s) for the WBA International and WBC Silver Welterweight titles.  This will also be co-headlined by Keith Thurman VS Leonard Bundu, and Demitrius Andrade VS Jermell Charlo.

Amir Khan is a very good boxer.  Some say he is over rated, but this is the most attention he has gotten in a while.  I think even more then when the Mayweather rumors were flying around.  This is a must win for Khan, if he wants to stay in the mix for a potential showdown with the pound-forpound king!  Can Amir Khan handle the pressure?

Devon Alexander is also a very skilled boxer, so similar styles are clashing here.  The outcome of this fight, which will be very close and competitive, will depend on the mental toughness of each fighter.  In this category, I believe that Devon Alexander has the slight edge, as Amir Kahn has been known to crack under pressure and Alexander known to thrive.  Amir Khan defeated Zab Judah on July 23rd 2011 via KO in the 5th round.  He then proceeded to take a step up in class to fight Lamont Peterson, which he lost to by split decision, and then Danny Garcia who Knocked him out in the 4th round.  On the other hand, Alexander lost to Timothy Bradley, who is a great fighter, and then went on to defeat Lucas Matthysse and Marcos Maidana via decision.  Coming off of his first career loss to Bradley, Alexander was able to defeat not 1, but 2 really good fighters after that.  If thats not mental toughness, i don’t know what is.  It will be very close, and i could be wrong, but i give the slight edge to Devon Alexander in this fight.
