Terence Crawford mowed through the Lightweight division, and it was time to move up to Junior Welterweight for better competition. But is he really getting that on April 18th with his first fight in this weight class? He will take on Thomas Dulorme for the vacant WBO World Championship. With his move up in weight, Crawford gets a huge present from the World Boxing Organization (WBO), as he automatically gets a world title shot.
Crawford was in the fight of his life against Yuriorkis Gamboa in June of 2014, but ultimately his boxing skill took over and he ended up with a TKO victory. Then he face Raymundo Beltran and picked him apart. He retained his WBO title and won TheRing title, and it was time to move up. Thomas Dulorme is a virtually untested opponent for Crawford, and one must wonder why exactly this title shot wasn’t given to Lucas Matthysse instead of Dulorme, because no one deserves it more at a 140 pounds.
