Last night on HBO Boxing, Terence “Bud” Crawford (30-0, 21 KO’s) defeated John Molina (29-7, 23 KO’s) with an 8th round TKO.  Molina was overmatched from the opening bell, and stood no chance at all against the superior skills of Crawford.  Crawford was not happy with Molina to begin with, due to the fact that John molina came in to the fight 4 pounds overweight, and they had to renegotiate everything over night.  Crawford looked ticked off from the opening bell and came out swinging, which is a bit uncharacteristic of him, as he usually tries to just gauge his opponent for the first round or two.

Crawford started off the fight in the conventional stance, as he usually does, and it took him about a minute to switch to southpaw.  Crawford is just as skilled a left handed fighter as he is a right handed fighter, and he immediately started teeing off on Molina’s face.  Molina would proceed to lose every single round of the fight, actually every moment of the fight, as he could not get any offense going what so ever.  In the 8th round, with Molina’s face looking like he just came back from war, Crawford pinned Molina in the corner and it was on.  Crawford began to whale away on Molina’s face, then hit him with a vicious body shot forlloed by a hook that put Molina down.  The referee would stop the fight, and Terence Crawford retains his WBC/WBO/TheRing Junior Welterweight titles.

Raymundo Beltran (31-7, 19 KO’s) also took on the lightning quick Mason Mennard (32-2, 24 KO’s), and defeated him by KO in the 7th round.  Mennard came out swinging in the first round, hitting Beltran with some devastating body shots.  After the first, Beltran adjusted to Mennard’s style, and ended up knocking him out in the 7th round.  Joseph Parker (22-0, 18 KO’s) also defeated Andy Ruiz (29-1, 19 KO’s) by split decision, to capture the vacant WBO Heavyweight title, that was stripped from Tyson Fury.
