Fresh off of his victory over the hard hitting David Lemieux, Billy Joe Saunders (26-0, 12 KO’s) has already announced his next fight.  Sanders will take on former Middleweight contender Martin Murray (36-4-1, 17 KO’s).  This will be Murray’s third attempt at a world title, as he got crushed by GGG in his last one.  Also on the card, Terry Flanagan (33-0, 13 KO’s) will take on Maurice Hooker (23-0-3, 16 KO’s) for the vacant WBO Junior Welterweight title.  The event will take place in London England and will be broadcast live on BT Sport and Box Nation.

Saunders proved he wasn’t the paper champion everyone thought he was, when he defeated David Lemieux by shut out.  After what seemed like a year of dodging the GGG fight, Saunders put his belt on the line against another heavy hitter, and won every round.  Not saying that Saunders would have outboxed Golovkin or beaten him, but it makes one wonder if he would have done much better then expected.  Saunders is a master of distance, as he proved in the Lemieux fight, and Lemieux’s only chance was to bulldoze him.  Murray, not being a big puncher, will have to find a way to outbox Saunders, which I don’t believe he will be able to do.  W will find out in April.
