Image result for danny garcia vs samuel vargasLast night on Premier Boxing Champions, Danny “Swift” Garcia (33-0, 19 KO’s) defeated Samuel Vargas (25-3-1, 13 KO’s) via TKO in the 7th round.  Garcia, usually deadly with the left hook, found a home for the overhand right early in the fight.  He hit Vargas with a huge right in the 2nd round and put him down.  Vargas would get up and fight on, but it was a very one sided affair.  Garcia would later start utilizing the left hook more, and was nailing Vargas at will with it.  It was pretty much target practice.  In the 7th round, Garcia continued wailing on Vargas with nothing but power punches, and it was enough to warrant a stoppage.

Garcia looked good doing what he did, but it was against a totally overmatched opponent, which seems to be Garcia’s thing these days.  He probably should have gotten Vargas out of there earlier then he did, but never the less, he got the victory, and tats all that matters in the end.  Javier Fortuna (31-1-1, 22 KO’s) defeated Omar Douglas (17-1, 12 KO’s) in a narrow unanimous decision over 10 rounds wit the scores of 96-93/96-93/95-94, and Jarrett Hurd(19-0, 13 KO’s) obliterated Jo Jo Dan (35-4, 18 KO’s) with a 6th round TKO.  Dan’s corner threw in the towel, as he was taking enormous punishment.
